Fairweather House and Gallery  introduces new work by artist Christine Trexel for the exhibition Works on Paper through June 30th.  The opening reception  was held on June 4th during the Seaside First Saturday Art Walk.

Paper artist Christine Trexel, a gifted speaker, offered a show and tell  episode about her passionate art endeavors after a meet and greet affair at Fairweather’s.

 

 

Christine Trexel is a paper and book artist residing in Astoria.  Her pieces are made primarily from plants gathered in her own garden and neighborhood which are processed and then made into paper.

Dyes, acrylic inks and paints, embroidery, weaving, layering and shaping are all techniques that she uses to give the simple paper more interest.

“Paper is infinite in its quality of adaptability.  It is possible to change it in so many ways.  I remain constantly intrigued by what I might do, ” Christine Trexel.
