ON YOUR MARKS, an exhibition, featuring NW artists Gayle H. Seely, Diane Copenhaver, Mary Burgess, and Lee Munsell.

The artist, Lee Munsell, is a Luminist, as he explores a range of naturalistic subject matter with a sensitive eye for varying degrees of luminosity. He takes on the more difficult subjects of water, its weight, and its under tow in the tidal current.

On your marks”  a command given to runners at the beginning of a race in order to get them into the correct position to start.

In the words of the May 2021 gallery exhibition, it “ means to begin something, indicating the arts season is opening for the summertime.

The show offers a fresh and dynamic experience with new art specially created for the upcoming high season.

His art works have been selected previosuly for the Laguna Festival of the Arts, a sought after juried show. In addition, Lee Munsell has participated in the Pageant of the Masters. His work is exhibited in selected galleries throughout the United States including a one man how at the World Art Gallery. He has traveled throughout throughout the Pacific NW to gather insights and does pencil sketches on location that allow him to take the inspiration for new work later in his studio.
