After a successful career and many national awards as an art director in television and motion pictures, Victoria Brooks pursued her love of painting, which she has been doing for more than 30 years.

Victoria’s paintings are characterized by intimate moments set in richly conceived seascapes. The result is a hauntingly personal connection with the viewer that resonates at the deepest emotional level.

In addition to being a talented studio artist, she is an accomplished plein air painter as well. She has won numerous “Best of Show” awards for her studio and plein air works.

PLACE-BASED Exhibition

On display July 3-25

Fairweather House and Gallery

612 Broadway

Seaside, Oregon

Fairweather Gallery’s July exhibition PLACE-BASED, an art show and sale, involves a focus on the importance and uniqueness of place.

While selecting the artworks to local context will appeal to the summertime tourists and visitors, behind the  exhibit is an understanding that fosters regional artists and their connection within the community. The exhibit doubles down on a link with the history of both place and keeping close tabs on how artists are based in visual story telling.

Featuring Northwest artists Barbara Bacon Folawn, Paul Brent, Victoria Brooks, Pam Haunschild, Bev Drew Kindley, Phil Juttlestad, Lee Munsell, Jan Shield, and Sharon Kathleen Johnson.

Seaside Painting LIVE ™ episode by Paul Brent throughout the evening

Victoria Brook’s PLACE-BASED talk at 5:30 pm

NW habitat lecture by naturalist Neal Maine at 6:00 pm
