Free-form bowl $395.
Free-form glass requires some artistic skill. It results from taking risks by starting with basic techniques and then experimenting with variations to see what happens. It also involves a lot of trial and error to develop methods to improve precision. I made over a hundred smaller bowls to refine my process before I could reliably make these large ones.”

“I continue to experiment with every kiln load. I include several smaller pieces that test out different patterns and color combinations.” $35. BH, master glass artist
“I also explore color combinations and different ways of placing and manipulating the powder.” $55 BH, master glass artist

Genuine sea glass comes from discarded bottles and is found in the ocean.
Real sea glass is on the left, and artificial glass shards are on the right.
- The constant movement of waves and tides, along with the abrasive action of sand, gradually smooths the sharp edges of the glass, creating a frosted appearance.
- The glass can take many years, sometimes decades, to become smooth and frosted.
- Sea glass is typically characterized by its smooth, rounded edges, frosted surface, and various colors, mostly green, brown, and white.
- Rarer colors, such as red, orange, yellow, and pink, are also found; however, they are more difficult to find.
- Factors like color, size, shape, and the length of time it has been in the ocean can affect the value of sea glass.
