“All things await the sensitive and imaginative mind that is raised to pleasurable emotion at the sight of them. This is beauty. The art student that should be, and is so rare, is the one who spends his life in love. He also nurtures his personal sensations. He cherishes his emotions and never undervalues them. He finds pleasure in exclaiming them to others and eagerly searches for their clearest expression.” Robert Henri

Emily Schultz McNeil is a born-and-raised Northwest painter who enjoys painting the garden and her beautiful still-life settings. She also likes to paint experiences she has lived through and landscapes she loves.

Emily’s art education consisted of taking classes and workshops. She read books and watched videos of her favorite artists. Emily also went to museums and galleries. She is grateful to Brent Burkett. He nurtured her in his quiet way through the techniques of “real art.” She appreciates Tom Browning, who told her he thought she would make it as an artist. She thanks Morgan Weistling for his kindness and critique, which still makes her smile when she thinks of them. She acknowledges Scott Christensen for the abundance of knowledge he shared. She admires Dan Gerhartz for his teaching on color temperature, his critiques, and his inspiring life and paintings.

Now, Emily is painting lots of fresh flowers, which have been very well received by her collectors. She shows her work at the Fairweather House and Gallery in Seaside. She had solo shows at the Lawrence Gallery in Oregon.

Emily hopes her paintings will add to the beauty of the world. She wants to infuse vibrant colors and intricate details. These details capture the essence of nature and humanity alike. She aims for a divine connection that inspires others. It should motivate people to seek the extraordinary in the ordinary. Her Art should be a place for your soul to rest. It provides solace and tranquility in a chaotic world. It invites viewers to pause, think, and find joy in the subtle nuances of life that often go unnoticed. Through each brushstroke, she strives to forge a shared experience. This experience resonates deeply, linking hearts and minds. It promotes an appreciation of the splendid tapestry of creation.
