STEP OUTSIDE exhibition June 1 -25

Making these journals I “stepped outside” to see what I could find in my environment to enhance the covers.  The soft cover journals have a durable cover paper, called Bark paper, which is 100% Belgian flax with natural dyes. The look and feel are evocative of the outdoors.  The Canson MiTientes text paper is sewn onto an accordian folded colored piece of the same paper.  This journal would be a wonderful companion for a walk in the woods, at the beach, or wherever you enjoy spending time.”  –Christine Trexel, paper and textile artist

Christine Trexel is dedicated to using the finest materials for her books, always striving to provide each piece with the utmost quality. The idea of someone writing on the pristine pages brings her immense joy. She believes that her creations inspire the creation of others; these writings could encompass a multitude of emotions and themes—ideas, fantasies, dreams, fears, hopes, despair, solace, contemplations, histories—anything has the potential to be expressed within them.
