Q:  What is an emerging artist, you ask?

A:   “The term emerging refers to artistic development, professional accomplishment, and recognition. Emerging artists take risks and embrace challenges; are rigorous in their approach to creation and production; have some evidence of professional achievement but not a substantial record of accomplishment; and are not recognized as established artists by other artists, curators, and galleries. Fairweather House and Gallery has sought to support emerging regional artists who show significant potential.” –Denise Fairweather, gallerist.

In the past ten years Fairweather House and Gallery has supported  the artistic launching of the following Northwest talents: Kristin Qian, Britney Drumheller,  Robert Mc Whirter, Nick Brakel, Rebecca Gore,  Michael Wing and Gayle H. Seely, among others.
